Three children and four adults in hospital after land train crash

Three children and four adults were taken to hospital after a land train crashed at a holiday park in Cornwall.
A further 11 people were seen at the scene and were either uninjured or treated for minor injuries.
The incident happened at Tregoad Caravan and Camping Park near Looe shortly before 7pm on Wednesday 30 October.
The land train, towed by a Land Rover Defender, crashed inside the holiday park.
Seven people, including three children were taken to Derriford Hospital for assessment and treatment. None of the injuries are considered to be life changing or life threatening.
Police, fire crews, the coastguard and ambulance service were all called to the scene.
Looe Land Train is a regular sight in the Cornish town, running historical trips around the town.
The owners of the family-run business say they are “in shock” following the crash and have cancelled the rest of the land train’s events for 2024.
A spokesperson for the business said: “Looe Land Train was sadly involved in an accident, not involving any other vehicles, whilst at an event.
“As a small, family-owned and run business we are still in shock and our thoughts go out to all of those injured and impacted.
“At this time, due to the ongoing investigation, we will not be adding further to this statement.”
They added refunds will be issued within the next 48 for those booked onto Halloween events.
Earlier that evening, Welcome To Looe and Polperro issued a statement on behalf of the Looe Land Train company.
It confirmed the land train “tipped over” and “a number of passengers” were injured.
“At this time, the cause of the accident is unknown,” they added. “No other vehicles were involved. We will be fully cooperating with any investigation by the authorities.
Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a Land Rover Defender towing a carriage containing passengers described as a land train in the caravan park at around 6.55pm.
“Seven people, including three children were taken to Derriford Hospital for assessment and treatment. None of the injuries are considered to be life changing or life threatening.
“Eleven people were discharged at the scene with either minor injuries or were uninjured.
“The scene was attended by Cornwall Air Ambulance and two Coastguard helicopters were also dispatched, as well as the ambulance and fire services.
“Officers from the Roads Policing Team carried out an investigation at the scene and would like to thank the public for their patience while the road was closed.
